How to Make Angel Pins

Things You'll Need:

  • Hot glue gun
  • Triangular object
  • Round object
  • Gold trim
  • Wing material
  • Fastener
1

Look for a triangular shape for the body of your angel pin. This might be the bangle from an old earring, a sea shell, crystal, or just about any small, interesting triangular object. A triangular shape can also be made from fabric, lace or ribbon.

2

Find a round object for the head of the angel. This might be a button or a bead. Another option is using an old fashioned clothes pin, and building the body over the lower portion of the clothes pin, below the round top. Features can be added to the face of the head by permanent markers or paint.

3

Pair the appropriate sized round head shape, with the triangular body. Don't choose a bead that is too small for the size of the triangle shape. Another consideration is the color and texture of the two objects. A pearl-like round ball might look lovely on a crystal triangle, but a wood bead may seem mismatched paired with crystal. Use the hot glue to attach the head to the body.

4

Fashion the wings for your angel. Wide ribbon, with wired edges can be twisted to make a pair of angels. Small feathers can also be used, or any wing shaped, feathery sewing notion. Attach the wings to the back of the angel, using the hot glue.

5

Loop a strand of gold trim for the halo. Use the hot glue to attach the two cut ends together at the back of the angel head. You could also use a small gold ring twisted from wire.

6

Affix a safety pin, pin magnets or jewelry pin fastener to the back of the pin. Use tape or hot glue, depending on the angel pin you've created.
